NEW model from Stihl, replacing the old model HTA 85.

Powerful yet quiet battery pole pruner. With low-vibration, it’s ideal for professional use in tree maintenance, orchards and by council contractors. Whether you’re pruning trees, removing dead wood, trimming breakage due to storms or cutting back fruit trees, the HTA 86 delivers with every cut.

It features a ¼” PM3 saw chain, lightweight and compact drive head with sturdy branch hook for easy removal of loose cuttings from the tree.

With its professional telescopic shaft, this pole pruner is ideal for delivering a precise cut. Total length 270–390 cm.

The sturdy branch hook helps to remove loose cuttings from trees up to five metres tall.

EC-Motor

Maintenance-free, brushless and efficient STIHL EC motor ensures a longer run time in operation and increased life expectancy.

Intuitive control handle

The user-friendly combination of the ergonomic control handle featuring self-resetting locking lever with the Ergo lever ensures an intuitive start-up sequence. Easy operation for right- and left-handed users.

Perfect equipment balance

The battery’s centre of gravity is located in the shaft axis, ensuring a lower tilting torque which enables fatigue-free working.

Side-mounted chain tensioning

The tensioning screw is inserted laterally through the sprocket cover, preventing hand contact with the sharp chain and the tips of the claw stop.

Tool-free oil tank cap

Patented special oil tank closure. The tank can be opened and closed quickly, without physical effort and without the need for tools.

Telescopic shaft with rotatable clamping sleeve

The practical square telescopic shaft, which extends from 2.70 m to 3.90 m, makes efficient tree care easy. The shaft length can be adjusted without tools thanks to the rotatable clamping sleeve.
